Lucy Dykes Peavy has twenty-six years of teaching experience in independent education and has been part of the Tattnall family for nineteen years. Currently, she teaches English 9 Honors, World Literature and Honors World Literature. She has also taught Humanities, Modern Fiction and Exploratory Writing at Tattnall. Additionally, Mrs. Peavy serves as the Horizons yearbook advisor and sponsors the Junior Beta and Senior Beta Clubs. Having attended the University of Georgia and Mercer University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a State of Georgia T4 teaching certificate in English (grades 7-12). Mrs. Peavy has been named STAR teacher four times, twice by Tattnall seniors Heather Obelgoner ‘06 and National Merit Finalist Caroline Jackson ‘10. She and her husband, Mike, are members of Vineville Baptist Church.
