Tattnall Square Academy will return to school as planned on Thursday, August 13.
The marketing and communications office sends out weekly emails via Constant Contact every Monday during the school year. This email contains all relevant information for the current week and shows upcoming events for remainder of the month. If you have not received an email from TSA, via Constant Contact, please contact Michael DuVall at michael.duvall@tattnall.org to address any email communication issues.

The Joe B. Hill Media Center is open from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Contact Mrs. Stacy Chambers if you have questions regarding AR, book selections, or other media center programs.

BOYS
- Collared polo or oxford shirts purchased through Lands’ End or the Spirit Shop with Tattnall logos are to be worn each day, all grades (exceptions to be made on announced Spirit Days or Special Occasion Days)
- Shirts must be either black, gray, navy, pink, cobalt (royal), maize (gold), chambray blue, pin-striped or white.
- Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
- T-shirts worn under uniform shirts must be solid black, blue, maize, gray, pink or white and have no writing.
- Solid khaki or navy pants and shorts (no Chubbies) with belt loops may be worn on non- chapel days. For students in grades 6-12, shorts may not have extra pockets on the outside except basic front and back pockets.
- Pants are not to be worn above or below the natural waistline.
- Boys are to wear leather belts with all pants/shorts.
- Holes in clothing do not meet dress requirements regardless of what is worn underneath them.
- Boys are to keep their hair cut such that it does not touch the collar, eyebrows, or cover the ears. Sideburns may not extend below the middle of the ear.
- No facial hair is allowed.
- Non-traditional hair color will not be allowed.
- Any part of a tattoo that is visible (permanent or temporary) and body piercings of any kind are not allowed.
- No hats or sunglasses are to be worn.
- No lanyards or chains hanging from pockets.
- Boys may not wear any form of sandal to school. Birkenstock-type clogs with a back will be allowed. Croc-style shoes are not allowed.
- Only TSA-approved outerwear may be worn. The 2020-2021 outerwear policy can be viewed here.
- For K3- 12th grade, royal blue Tattnall shirts and khaki shorts or pants will be worn on field trips.
GIRLS
- Collared shirts purchased through Lands’ End with Tattnall logos are to be worn Monday-Friday for all grades. The only exception is pre-announced special occasion or Spirit Days.
- Shirts must be either black, gray, navy, pink, cobalt (royal), maize (gold), chambray blue, or white.
- T-shirts worn under uniform shirts must be solid black, blue, maize, gray, pink or white and have no writing or lace
- All pants, skorts, shorts, skirts, and jumpers must be either solid khaki, navy, or approved Lands’ End plaid.
- Skirts/shorts should follow the fingertip rule. (no shorter than the length of the arm and hand extended down at the side).
- No skirts with slits in the back are permitted.
- Pants and skirts are not to be worn above or below the natural waistline.
- Holes in clothing do not meet dress requirements regardless of what is worn underneath them.
- Stockings and socks must be a solid black, gray, maize, royal, or white and not have lace. Only black leggings may be worn, and only with skirts or jumpers.
- Non-traditional hair color will not be allowed.
- Any part of a tattoo that is visible (permanent or temporary) and body piercings (other than the ears) are not allowed.
- Girls may wear no more than two earrings per ear.
- No hats or sunglasses are to be worn.
- No lanyards or chains hanging from pockets.
- All shoes must be either closed toed or have a strap on the back. Birkenstock-type clogs with a back will be allowed. Croc-style shoes are not allowed. Heels on shoes can be no more than two inches. Flat sole boots may be worn with skirts.
- Only TSA-approved outerwear may be worn. The 2020-2021 outerwear policy can be viewed here.
- For K3-12th grade, royal blue Tattnall shirts and khaki shorts, skirts, or pants and plaid skirts will be worn on field trips.
BOYS AND GIRLS CHAPEL WEAR
Grades K3-5:
- Boys are to wear white, maize (gold), or cobalt (royal) polos with the Tattnall logo and solid Khaki or Navy pants or shorts with belt loops (purchased from the store of your choice) on chapel days.
- Girls are to wear white, maize (gold), or cobalt (royal) polos with the Tattnall logo and solid khaki or navy pants, skirts, skorts, shorts, jumpers or approved Lands’ End plaid skirts on chapel days.
Grades 6-12:
- Girls are to wear Lands’ End plaid uniform skirts and oxford shirts (light blue, white, or yellow) with the Tattnall logo on chapel days.
- Boys are to wear khaki colored pants (no shorts) with belt loops, belts, and white, light blue, or pin-striped oxford shirts with the Tattnall logo. Shirts must be tucked in and worn with a tie or bowtie that is of the same plaid as the young ladies skirts or is of school colors only (blue and/or gold).
- NO outerwear will be permitted on chapel days with the exception of a navy sports coat for boys and a navy blue cardigan for girls.
Note
- Students in K3 – 5th grade must follow the dress codes above unless exception is noted.
- For students in K3, K4, K5, tucking shirts in, however, is not a requirement due to their young age, but encouraged, if possible. Tennis style shoes are preferred for every child of this age. Putting the child’s name inside the outerwear is also helpful and suggested.

Summer Bible Reading
DownloadLower school students (rising 2nd and up) enrolled in Summer Daycare will have the opportunity to go to the Computer Lab to test at least once a week.
Summer AR Testing Dates and Times:
ALL Students who are rising 2nd -5th graders are encouraged to continue taking AR quizzes from wherever they are sheltered in place until further notice. The school will send out an update if/when the current situation changes with available testing dates and times to come to the Media Center. Rising 4th-5th grade students should NOT test over their REQUIRED books until they return to school. This will take place in the classroom with their teachers. However, they are allowed to test over any other books they read for pleasure.
