What Do You Love Most about Tattnall?

I love the Christian and family atmosphere where all (students and teachers) are treated with love and respect!

Bio:

Grew up in Macon, graduated from A.L.Miller High School, graduated from Emory University in 1963 and for 4 years taught math in the public school system in Atlanta. Married my Georgia Tech grad, Tom Smothers, (just celebrated our 56th anniversary), have three children, Andy (TSA class of 1986), Mary Virginia (TSA class of 1993), and Carolyn (TSA class of 1995). After spending 15 years at home raising these 3 wonderful children, I began teaching Math at Tattnall in 1982 and am now teaching 3 of my 6 grandchildren: William Stuart (TSA class of 2025), Mary Banks Stuart (TSA class of 2027, and Virginia Ann Ferguson (TSA class of 2027). I love my job, and I love interacting with teenagers. I thought I knew everything about math until I took the job as math team coach in 2005 and realized that what I knew was just the tip of the iceberg. I am now learning every day...just as my students do!

Fun Fact:
