What Do You Love Most about Tattnall?

Christian love shown to the faculty and to the students...in words and deeds.

Bio:

Grew up in Macon, graduated from A.L. Miller High School, graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in Social Studies and Education. I was told by the school systems to which I applied that the Social Studies classes were reserved for the coaches and that math teachers were needed so I said "ok, I can teach math" and the rest is history. I taught four years in the Atlanta Public School system before children, spent 15 years in the kitchen raising three children, now this is my 38th year at Tattnall Square Academy. Married my Georgia Tech grad, Tom Smothers (just celebrated our 53rd), have three beautiful children, Andy, Mary Virginia and Carolyn and six beautiful grandchildren. Love what I do at school and love what I do at home. Became the math team coach in 2005, and revitalized my career. I thought I knew a lot before math team...now I realize that I know very little!!
