My favorite thing about the Tattnall family is the PEOPLE! We get to do life with some amazing students, teachers, families, and co-workers! Every person I have met here has been genuine and REAL. They are a blessing each and everyday and are always looking for ways to serve others.
Bio:
My name is Misty Kitchens and I have been teaching kindergarten since 2001. I married my high school sweetheart, Jon Kitchens, and we have 3 children attending Tattnall: Maddie '21, John Michael '23, and Makenna '24. We attend Ingleside Baptist Church. I was born and raised in Macon, Georgia and earned my Bachelor's Degree at Georgia College and State University. I graduated in May of 2001, got married in June, and began my first teaching job that fall. I later went back and finished my Master's degree from the University of Phoenix. Early on in my career as a public school teacher, I realized that the demands of being a teacher were great! Being a mom, I longed to be with my kids and began to pray for God to work that out for our family, while still fulfilling the call he had equipped me to do: Be a mom & Be a teacher! He answered my prayers and brought our family to Tattnall in the fall of 2009. My children have thrived here and I have been able to have a front row seat to witness it all! Teaching at Tattnall has been a dream come true and a blessing for our family!
