After a split with Hebron Christian Academy in Saturday’s DH, the Trojans 5-0 shut out on Monday brought home the first GHSA A State Baseball Championship for Tattnall’s baseball program. Sophomore Logan Simmons answered the call on the mound for TSA and pitched a complete game. Nick DiPonzio, who signed with Wake Forest earlier this year, started the game off right with a home run while Cory Bartholomew sit two solo home runs later in the game.

Coach Joey Hiller told the Macon Telegraph, ““It is great to represent Tattnall Square like this and win our first GHSA championship. I think it validates us as a baseball program after winning so many state championships in the GISA, and we really wanted to win this. These guys have given me everything they have every single day, and I am really humbled to be a part of this.”

The Trojans have earned 8 GISA State Championship titles since 2000. This is the first state title for the Trojans since joining the GHSA in 2015.
