Many people may have great memories of their high school days, but very few consist of meeting their future spouse. For these two 1995 graduates, Tattnall is more than where they received their education, it is where their story began. Barry Stuart asked Carolyn Smothers Stuart on their first date to the 1993 TSA Homecoming dance. These sweethearts dated throughout the rest of high school and a few years of college.

This alumni highlight couple parted ways during college while Carolyn obtained her degree in Management and Marketing in 1999 from Georgia Tech followed by her masters in Mathematics from Georgia Southern. She has been teaching high school math at TSA for eight years.  Barry graduated from Mercer University in 1999 with a dual degree in Finance and Accounting followed by an MBA  from Georgia Southern. He also was an Army Officer from 2000-2005 and earned his CPA designation in 2012. Barry has been an administrator for Georgia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center since 2005.

Barry and Carolyn reunited and married in 2004 and began their family.  Their TSA story went full circle when their children entered school at Tattnall. William (7) is in the first grade and Mary Banks (4) is in 4K.

We can’t wait to see “Little Barry” and “Little Carolyn” grow up at Tattnall just like their parents. TSA is blessed to have the Stuarts come “home”.
