Tattnall Square Academy’s Board of Trustees is thrilled to announce David Raines as the school’s new leader. David will begin his tenure as the Head of School on June 1.
David has a strong commitment to Christ and Christian education. He not only has business acumen but also brings a wealth of experience via former roles as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and head of school. His leadership expertise and vision for school sustainability and growth will further strengthen TSA as a leading Christian educational institution in central Georgia.
“I cannot adequately express how excited we are to welcome David as our new head of school,” said Dr. Shawn Scott, chair of the TSA Board of Trustees. “His achievements as a Christian educator and leader will help us continue our positive growth, aid in the implementation of our strategic plan, and ensure we continue providing an exceptional Christian education to our students and families.”
David has nineteen years of experience in Christian education, with ten years as a head of school at several private institutions. He is currently the head of a Christian school in the Atlanta area. Under his guidance, he led that institution to consistent growth in enrollment, facilitated major debt reduction, and strengthened curriculum, as well as managed many campus and facility improvements.
“Tattnall has a rich history grounded in Christian faith, and I immediately felt God calling me to this special place,” said Raines. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join such a wonderful school family, share my vision, and strengthen TSA’s future.”
David is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College and the University of West Florida. He has also served as a deacon, youth group leader, and finance committee member at his church. David and his wife, Nancy, will celebrate twenty-five years of marriage in July. David and Nancy have four children: Luke, Rachel, Caleb, and Allison. Having previously served at another school in middle Georgia, the Raines family is excited to be back in middle Georgia and delighted to join the Tattnall family.
David will begin transitioning into his leadership role with TSA over the next few months as he completes his current contract. During this time, TSA families will have the opportunity to meet David, Nancy, and their children at several special events. More information is forthcoming on those details.
The Board of Trustees would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to Tom Johnson, Andy Bacchus, and the Head of School Search Committee, who poured countless hours into the search process.
The future is bright at Tattnall Square Academy…it’s great to be a Tattnall Trojan!
