Dear Parents / Guardians,

I hope that you are enjoying a productive school year so far.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to postpone this meeting that was scheduled for earlier this year.  I again want to make you aware of an upcoming opportunity for your child.  This invitation to travel with us is also extended to you as the parents of your student.  It is my hope that you and your child will be able to join us at the upcoming informational meeting to learn more about this unique opportunity.

We began planning this trip this past spring and have almost 20 students, faculty, and parents who will be participating in a global learning experience to Athens & the Islands. With this tour, students will be able to explore the amazing city of Athens and visit some islands in the Aegean Sea. While in Athens, we will visit Temples of Zeus, Apollo, and Poseidon, tour the Olympic Stadium, and explore the Oracle of Delphi. We will then take a short flight to Crete, where we will spend three nights and visit Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Fodele, Rethymno, and Chania.  We also hope to take a ferry trip to Santorini and visit the Archaeological Museum of Thera.

The opportunity to experience our global classroom directly and see what we have been studying in our classes come to life is an incredible opportunity that will give these students new perspectives not only on themselves, but also regarding the world around them. In addition to this, having an international experience in high school makes students more competitive college applicants and more likely to participate in study abroad programs.

I will be hosting an enrollment meeting for this program on Tuesday, September 26 at 5:30 PM in Room 112 to provide additional information and answer any questions you may have.  Please send me an e-mail at [email protected]  to RSVP so I know I have enough room to accommodate everyone.

Warm regards,

John Hankinson
