ImageCongratulations to Brent Jones, a junior at Tattnall Square Academy, who was nominated and accepted into the Governor’s Honors Program for Theater Performance. Brent is the first recipient in Theater Performance from Tattnall Square Academy. According to the GHP website, Only 1% of sophomores and juniors in the state of Georgia are nominated to the state level for the Program.

The Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) is a four-week, summer residential program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year.

Activities provide each participant with opportunities to acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to become independent, life-long learners.

High School sophomores and juniors in public, private, and home schools are eligible for nomination in one of twenty areas. In recent weeks, Brent has also won first place in Boys Solo for Region Literary and was then named GISA AAA Boys Solo State Champion. Congratulations, Brent!
