ImageTyler Ward signed a letter of intent with Mercer University today. Tyler has been one of the most integral members of the varsity football team at Tattnall Square Academy. Coach Barney Hester introduced Tyler and spoke of his longtime coaching relationship with the senior standout.  
As a freshman, Tyler had 94 first hits, 45 assists, and 13 tackles for a loss. In his sophomore year, he had 104 first hits, 44 assists, and 15 tackles for a loss.
As a junior, Tyler had 90 first hits, 50 assists, and 93 tackles for a loss. In his senior year, he had 112 first hits, 55 assists, and 9 tackles for a loss. Ward holds the school record in first hits with 400 and in total tackles with 598. He is an outstanding member of the Tattnall Square Academy family, on and off the field.

Tyler was named All-Region and All-State this year and was continuously honored at the Macon Touchdown Club. Congratulations, Tyler!
