Austin Tedders has been selected to be a part of the GMEA All-State Honor Band. Each year, top instrumentalists from across the state have the honor of rehearsing and performing in these exclusive groups. Prior to being selected, each member must complete two separate auditions, each requiring the student to prepare and perform etudes, fundamentals, and scales on a variety of percussion instruments. In addition, the students are also judged on their ability to play a piece of music they have never seen before as accurately as possible. Austin competed against hundreds of percussionists across the state, in the 9th and 10th grades, and was only 1 of approximately 10 students chosen.
