Joey Hiller has made it clear for years that Tattnall Square Academy is home for him.

The Head Baseball and Softball Coach has been at Tattnall Square since 1997 and since taking over as the Head Baseball Coach in 1999, he has won 533 games. He took the reins of the softball program when Tattnall made the transition to fast-pitch in 2001 and has added 403 wins as head coach of that program. He has won 10 State Championships in baseball and another in softball.

Now Hiller’s track record for excellence will move into the administrative area as he was named Assistant Athletic Director on Wednesday. Hiller will join forces with Athletic Director Todd Whetsel, who says Coach Hiller is a “highly accomplished coach whose experience and knowledge will be a tremendous asset in this new role.”

“It is an absolute honor to be able to serve Tattnall Square Academy and its community in this capacity,” said Hiller, who was also an Assistant Football Coach under Barney Hester for six years. “I look forward to the opportunity to make a positive impact in our Athletic Department and assist in any way the Administration needs me to. I have been devoted to this school ever since I was hired in 1997, and I fully intend to continue to strive for excellence in all areas of our Athletic Department.”

Hiller insists he will give the same energy and relentless pursuit of success to his new position as he has to the baseball and softball programs. “I know I have a lot to learn about the new position, but I look forward to the challenge, and I am dedicated to serving this great school.”

Hiller will continue to serve as the Head Baseball and Softball Coach.
