IMGP0590Miles Benson, new to the Tattnall family, is serving as the director of bands in his first year as a teacher. A 2014 graduate of the University of Georgia, Miles completed a B.A. in Music Education and Music Therapy and graduated Cum Laude.

While attending UGA, Miles performed with the Redcoat Marching Band in addition to a number of other musical ensembles. During the last year, Miles completed an intensive internship in the Fulton County School System in order to complete his music therapy degree, using music as a tool to increase skills in students with disabilities.

Miles joins the Tattnall staff with a great deal of enthusiasm for band and a huge interest in implementing other performance mediums such as jazz, guitar, and praise.

What do you like to do when you’re not working on campus?
I play in two bands and I love to sleep!

Mr. Benson’s band, Swain and the Highway Souls, will perform this Saturday, October 4th at Wesleyan College from 4:10 to 5:10 p.m. The event is free and will also feature Tattnall family member and alumna, Molly Stevens ’01. Molly’s band, Stevens Layne, will follow at 6:00 p.m.
