MACON, Ga., January 17, 2019  – Congratulations to fourth grader Emma Hicks who won first place in the Tattnall Square Academy Spelling Bee. Fifth grader Abigayle Baugh won first runner-up. Emma will now compete in the first round of the GISA Middle School Spelling Bee in February. The first round is a written test consisting of spelling and vocabulary. Students who score in the top 10 will move on to another written test in round two. Finally, the top 20 from round 2 will advance to round 3, an oral spelling bee.
