Jack selected Mrs. Carolyn Smothers, renowned math instructor and TSA Math Team coach, as his STAR Teacher. This is the 7th time Mrs. Smothers has been selected as STAR Teacher during her 33 year tenure.

“I scored highest in mathematics, so I felt like Mrs. Smothers was the most appropriate choice,” exclaimed Haughawout. Mrs. Smothers was surprised and honored by the announcement.

He was presented with the Presbyterian College Academic Award in 2014 and was an Honor Scholar his junior year.
