Congratulations to our March Teacher of the Month, Mrs. Laura Green! Laura has been a member of the Tattnall Family for 19 years after beginning her career as Assistant Daycare Director. She currently teaches 5th and 6th grade and serves as the TSA Geography Bee coordinator.
“Laura is hard-working, loving, and very easy to work with on a daily basis. She strives to make the classroom experience perfect for her students often staying late into the evening. She’s a team player, and we are so thankful to have her at TSA.” commented Early Childhood & Student Support Director, Susannah Allen.
Laura graduated from Ocmulgee Academy in Lumber City, GA, in 1979, and went on to receive a BBA degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, in 1983. She earned her teaching certificate from Mercer University in 1989. After serving as Assistant Daycare Director for a year, Laura joined became a member of the faculty in 1997 as a fourth grade teacher, where she taught for nine years before moving to 5th grade.
Laura is married to Frank Green and they have two daughters, Whitley and Shelley. Whitley, a 2008 graduate of TSA, earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UGA in 2011 and earned her Master’s degree from GSU in 2013. Shelley, a 2010 TSA graduate is is currently attending University of North Georgia.
Mrs. Green enjoys cooking, reading, canoeing, and traveling. She and her family attend Forest Hills United Methodist Church. “Tattnall has always been a second home for me and my family. My children have been well prepared for life experiences beyond high school. I cherish the many friends we have made here and look forward to seeing the heights that TSA will reach in years to come!” remarked Green.
