Dear Tattnall Families,
The Tattnall community still does not have any known or suspected cases of COVID-19. However, the CDC recommends that large gatherings should be avoided to curtail the spread of the disease. Therefore, for the continued safety and well-being of our students and families, Tattnall will follow the recommendation of school closure effective immediately. Our campus will be closed to students beginning Monday, March 16th and continue until further notice.
Our staff will be on campus both Monday and Tuesday to transition to a distance learning model. We will start with distance learning on Thursday, March 19. More information will be provided about your child’s distance learning in the coming days. To learn more about this process, visit to find all of our distance learning information in one place.
*NOTE: The “Frozen” performances scheduled for March 19 and 20 will be rescheduled for a later date. All activities, including athletics, will be canceled for the duration of the quarantine. We realize that this is very disappointing to our students but do not want to take any unnecessary health risks.
We recognize that this represents a disruption to the normal program and student experience, but we believe this course of action is important to mitigate risk and prioritize health and safety, both within the school community and in the many communities in which we are all involved. We trust that, by working together and being flexible in the midst of difficult and unexpected circumstances, we are demonstrating our commitment to our school mission and values that bind us together even as we remain geographically dispersed.
We will be evaluating the situation weekly and will continue to communicate any changes or reassessments of the situation.
With continued prayers,
John Hankinson
Head of School
