Scholarship and service are essential qualificationsIMG_3798 for a Golden Eagle nominee. The Golden Eagle Award is given to the individual in each category whose record of achievement and service to their school and community best exemplifies the unselfish use of his or her talents and abilities to help others, in relation to their category. The Macon Telegraph sponsored competition is open to all high school seniors from public, private, and home schools that are in Middle Georgia. The following students were nominated by faculty and chosen by the Honor Committee based on measurements of achievement, leadership, and character to represent Tattnall Square Academy.

Athletics – Alex Morton; Citizenship – Sarah Oxford; English – Rachel Terrill;                 Foreign Language – Shawver Adams; Mathematics – David Dozier;                             Music – Joel Henson; Science – Annie Vogel; Technology – Ashton Wall

The nominees will go on to compete in an interview process on March 22. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at the Grand Opera House on April 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The award recipients will receive a Golden Eagle Trophy and $1,000 scholarship while honorable mention recipients receive a certificate and $300 scholarship.
