Mission Statement

The mission of Tattnall Square Media Center is to (1) provide print and technological resources to support and enhance the curriculum, (2) provide instruction in reference and research skills, and, (3) promote a life-long love of reading for both information and enjoyment.

The Library is located across from the Spirit Shop outside of the Athletic Complex. There are 35 computers that can be used for word processing, research, and internet access to assist with classroom assignments.

The Library staff maintains both high interest titles in the collection and works to build personal relationships with students to instill a lifelong love of reading. By providing a rich culture, the Library supports students in exploring, creating, and synthesizing information to be successful in pursuing their academic excellence and individual passions.

In the summer of 2009, the Library went through major computer upgrades to enhance the collaborative nature of the space. Adding to the existing computers available, the Library gained approximately 15 updated computers and a large, wall-mounted touch screen to use when teaching. The new and improved look helps the Media Center staff support all disciplines and teach information skills to ensure that students are prepared for the 21st century and beyond.

A $20.00 donation is all it takes to commemorate your child’s birthday with a beautiful library bound book that will remain in our TSA library for generations to come.  A bookplate will be affixed to the inside front cover to depict your child’s name, birthday, and who donated the book.  We will present your child with his/her birthday book on the last Wednesday of the month of their birthday in celebration chapel.  Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, neighbors and friends are welcome to participate, too!  Just fill out the information below and return it in your child’s book bag with your $20.00 donation or bring it to the lower school office.  Your child will be able to select the book he/she wishes to have presented. Please click here for the donation form and turn it in to Mrs. Defore with payment.
