Renaissance Place Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is an exciting reading program that has proven to encourage reading among students across the country and here at Tattnall Square Academy.   The program challenges readers to read more quality literature at their own level.  Students are assigned a specific reading level based on their Star Reader test results.  This ensures student success in the books they choose to read.  We have done our best to label each book in the Media Center with an inside cover label and a colored dot on the outside spine indicating its level. 

0-purple, 1-red, 2-yellow, 3-blue, 4-green, 5-orange, 6-two purple, 7+-hot pink

Students take a reading comprehension test on the books they read. Depending on how well they score, they are allotted a specific number of points per test.  As they accumulate points, students are rewarded in their classroom and in the Media Center.

This year, twice a month we will be awarding dog tags to recognize those students who reach their reading goal.

Parents, you may access your child's results through Renaissance Place Home Connect.  You will need to log in using your child's AR user name and password. This will allow you sign up to receive email notifications on your child's progress.
