Macon, GA. – Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, Mr. Dillon Watkins will assume the role of Band Director at Tattnall Square Academy.

Mr. Watkins is a graduate of Mercer University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.  During his time at Mercer, he was involved with all of the instrumental ensembles offered in the Townsend School of Music, along with the Mercer Pep Band and Marching Band, where he served as drum major for his final two seasons.

Watkins also served as a member of the trumpet section for the seven-time world champions, The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, Illinois. After aging out of The Cavaliers, he began teaching in Georgia. He served as the instructor for the Wesleyan School, Mercer University, ALLIANCE Drum and Bugle Corps, Terminus Winds, Invictus Indoor Percussion, and Jones County High School.

Mr. Watkins is looking forward to staying in Macon, and is excited about the opportunity to become a part of the Tattnall family. A public “Meet and Greet” will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. in TSA’s media center. Refreshments will be provided, and all Tattnall family members are invited to attend.
