Tonight’s match-up against FPD brings an opportunity to capture a sub-region championship as well as the number one seed in the region tournament for the Trojans. TSA, currently 7-2 in the region, is now in a position that has previously evaded the Trojans since joining the GHSA.

“For our team to have this kind of success, with the same athletes who have done so well in football and baseball, means a lot for our program,” commented Head Coach, Jarvis Smith. Smith, currently in his third year at Tattnall Square Academy, said his team is eager to get back on the court with the crosstown rival after a two point loss earlier this season.

A win tonight for TSA would place the Trojans at Aquinas this Wednesday taking on the number four seed team who will be determined on Monday. Smith said spirits are high despite a heartbreaking loss for the Trojans against Twiggs Co. earlier this week. “You never want to say a loss is good, but I think it really made them open their eyes. Their focus is definitely stronger coming in to tonight’s game,” said Smith.

The Lady Trojans are looking to win their fifth game in a row tonight as they take on the Lady Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Head Coach Todd Whetsel says he’s urging his athletes to have fun and enjoy the game. “It should be a really exciting game to see the #10 and the #8 teams play, and I think our girls play better when the pressure is off,” commented Whetsel. The Lady Trojans will go in to the region tournament as the #4 seed regardless of tonight’s outcome.

Come out tonight and cheer on our teams at FPD beginning at 6:30 p.m. for the Lady Trojans followed by the boys’ game at 8:00 p.m.
