bart, kemp, simmons graphicTSA announced three additional members of the Class of 2016 who will continue their sports careers at the college level. Cory Bartholomew (USC Upstate – Baseball), Aubrien Kemp (East Georgia College – Basketball), and Blake Simmons (Georgia Southern -Baseball) signed letters of intent today in front of their families, coaches, friends, and peers.

Aubrien Kemp, a 1000 point scorer for the Tattnall Trojans, is a two-time All Region player who helped the Trojans advance to the Elite 8 after joining the GHSA. Prior to that transition, Aubrien played a key role in the Trojan’s last trip to the Final Four with the GISA. “Aubrien has always told me his goal was to play college ball, and I’m very proud of him for making that dream a reality,” commented Coach Jarvis Smith.

Both Cory Bartholomew and Blake Simmons, members of this year’s GHSA A State Championship baseball team, signed with Division 1 schools today. Members of the varsity baseball team since their freshman years, both senior standouts boast three state baseball titles and one Final Four finish. “Watching both of them play during game three of the state championship series was the embodiment of what they are all about. Cory had two home runs and refused to be denied a state championship. Blake played great defense for his brother who was on the mound. Our guys coming together to have each other’s back is what our baseball program is all about, and they have had a phenomenal season,” stated Coach Joey Hiller.

Bartholomew has earned All Region, All State, and All Middle Georgia honors during his baseball career and was also named GHSA All Region 7A Pitcher of the Year last year. Simmons is an All-State and All-Region honoree in both the GISA and GHSA.
