Jamal Marshall has received a number of awards in recognition for his efforts in Friday night’s 28-17 win over previously unbeaten Mount de Sales. The senior running back recorded 278 all-purpose yards on only 11 touches with three touchdowns. He opened the game with 95-yard kickoff return to put the Trojans up 7-0. After the Trojans fell behind 17-14 in the third quarter, Marshall scored on a 77-yard as TSA went ahead to stay. In the fourth quarter, with MDS driving, he recovered a fumble caused by fellow senior Gavin Whitfield. Two plays later, Whitfield hit Marshall for a 61-yard touchdown pass to clinch the victory. For the game, Marshall had 100 yards rushing, 64 receiving and 112 on kick returns. He also recorded a career-high 12 tackles.

For his actions, Marshall was recognized as the Georgia Farm Bureau Player of the Game and the Macon Touchdown Club’s Back of the Week. WGXA TV in Macon named him their player of the week as well. The Georgia High School Football Daily’s newsletter also named the performance on the top five for the week.
