Macon, GA. – Dalton Ford was named Tattnall Square Academy’s STAR Student for the 2017-2018 school year. The student who earns the highest SAT score, in one sitting, is honored with the STAR Student title. This student must also be in the top 10 or top 10% of his class.

Ford, a student at Tattnall since kindergarten, selected Mr. Kurt Dzwonkowski as his STAR Teacher. Dzwonkowski joined the Tattnall family in 2015 and has taught Ford AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics. Ford, who earned his highest score in the mathematics section, spoke of Dzwonkowski’s dedication to his students. Ford stated, “I have enjoyed Mr. D’s class for the past three years. He taught me well and helped me get my high score, which awarded me STAR student recognition.” Dzwonkowski was surprised and humbled by the announcement this morning. “Dalton is the only student I have had each of the three years I have been at Tattnall, and I am honored that he chose me,” commented Dzwonkowski.

In addition to his selection as STAR Student, Ford is a vital member of the cross country team, swim team, and math team. He is also involved in Beta Club and the Ecology Action Club, where he has helped with several Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Adopt-A-Spot clean ups. Ford has won numerous highest average awards and has been ranked 2nd in his class since ninth grade. Ford plans to attend Georgia Tech in the fall and major in Aeronautical Engineering.
