The Alumni Office at Tattnall Square Academy is now requesting nominations for the 2017 Joe Magnan Alumnus of the Year Award and the Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2018.
Established in 1996, the Joe Magnan Alumnus of the Year Award is presented to an alumnus who has made a substantial contribution to his or her profession. Nominations may be submitted by Tattnall alumni, faculty, and staff. Guidelines for this award are listed below.

Jo Magnan Alumnus of the Year – Criteria

  • Demonstrate high Christian standards and integrity
  • Have made a substantial contribution to his or her profession
  • Have attended TSA for a minimum of 3 years of high school
  • Have graduated from TSA at least 10 years prior to the year of the award
  • Be a person whose selection will reflect honor on the school

Nominations may be submitted, via online form, between now and March 15. The selection committee, comprised of five faculty members with significant longevity at TSA, will then submit final candidates to the Head of School by April 1. Recipients of this award also serve as the graduation speaker at commencement ceremonies.

Established in 2014, the TSA Athletic Hall of Fame honors Tattnall athletes who have significant and/or long term contributions to athletic endeavors. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character. Nominations may be submitted via online form until May 1, 2018.

 

Athletic Hall of Fame – Criteria

In order to maintain the integrity of the Hall of Fame, the following criteria are established for nominations:

1- The nominee, if an alumnus/alumna, must have graduated at least 10 years prior to nomination.

2- Teams must have graduated their Senior class at least 10 years prior to nomination.

3- Each nominee must have made a significant achievement in athletics or a major contribution to athletics at Tattnall Square Academy.

(Significant achievements at the college, professional, or amateur levels may also be taken into consideration; however, such achievements shall be given less weight than achievements at Tattnall Square Academy.)

Nominations to the Athletic Hall of Fame may be made by the selection committee, current members of the Golden Trojan Board, TSA alumni, current faculty, administration, and staff. The nomination form should be completed and received by the Athletic Director, along with appropriate support materials, by May 1, 2018 for a candidate to be considered for induction in the next school year. In addition to the official nomination form for an individual’s consideration, a letter of recommendation from the person making the nomination, and up to 3 letters of support from appropriate individuals who can validate or substantiate pertinent information related to the high school career of the nominee must be submitted.

Inductees are honored each year in conjunction with the Homecoming activities. In addition, an induction ceremony will be held in fall 2018.
